My life in ceramics began many years ago when I entered a shop in Canterbury selling craft pottery and decided I had to learn how to throw beautiful ware.

 

My only training was at evening classes at Goldsmiths College. I went on to hone my skills working for small country potteries and at Brannams of Barnstaple (now defunct) and then built my own kiln and worked independently.

 

Not making much money, I regretfully changed course to train as a teacher and enjoyed teaching English in a state school before returning to my first love upon retirement.
